Deep Memory Process

What is Deep Memory Process?

Deep Memory Process (or D.M.P. for short) is a holistic approach that integrates body, mind and emotion. Many limiting emotional problems, anxieties, fears, phobias, complexes, issues, and physical illnesses can be traced to 'unfinished business' and unhappy memories from past experiences.

D.M.P. is a creative fusion of the Jungian theories of the active imagination, regression, psychodramatic role play, various types of body therapies and transpersonal psychologies. It was developed by Roger J. Woolger, Ph.D, (www.rogerwoolger.com) from many years of practice with the methods of Jung, Reich and various other spiritual traditions.

By regressing to the main hurdles in life and limiting the beliefs that cause them, these problems can easily be undone and quickly resolved. The therapy also applies to current life problems that can be accessed and worked with by going back to earlier events and memories.

D.M.P. brings to attention the unseen issues and patterns that affect your life and perhaps prevent you from living it to its fullest. It is a regression therapy that transforms and releases trauma from the body, emotions and mind in one single process.

It combines the idea of Jungian active imagination and the Reichian concept of body awareness in a role play of memories that are in need of closure.

How can Deep Memory Process help you?

D.M.P is a therapy that can help many issues, and it has been successfully used in treating difficulties in:

  • interpersonal relationships and fractured families
  • issues of self-esteem and personal empowerment
  • scars from adult or childhood sexual abuse
  • all forms of domestic and urban violence
  • post-traumatic reactions to war, torture and devastating loss

How does D.M.P. work?

You will be invited to explore whatever problem you want to work with.
In a stable environment you will be helped, if needed, to:

  • recognise any main issues or complexes affecting your life.
  • journey in time to resolve any childhood traumas you may have.
  • relive and resolve emotional conflicts through healing psychodramas.
  • develop awareness of deep memories so you can release them from your body.
  • let go of old unwanted patterns and influences from your family.
  • clear your energetic mind of negative influences.

How Long does the Process Last?

A typical DMP session lasts about one hour and a half.  This includes enough time for integration and processing the work you have done.  Usually a series of sessions is recommended but occasionally radical changes can occur in only one or two sessions.  Deep Memory Process can be used as a special therapy for specific complaints and it also works well in conjunction with other ongoing therapy sessions.
